| Plati Yialos is one of the twin beaches of Lassi, a couple of kilometers to the south of the capital of Kefalonia, Argostoli.
Plati Yialos literally means Wide beach aluding to its short, wide shape. This is the busiest of the two beaches of Lassi and provides sun tanning on a fairly industrial scale. It is pretty impossible to use Plati Yialos unless you are willing to fork out on a sunlounger- 7.50 Euros for a pair last summer. No room has been left for those prefering to sit on the sand.

| Admittedly a very attractive beach. Unfortunately, the natural beauty of which has been diminished in modern times by the amount of beach furniture. |

| The industrial scale of the beach means that it is kept impecably clean - you could eat your dinner off that sand! |

| It is easy to get to Plati Yialos, especially for those staying in Lassi. The immediate descent to the beach is quite steep so the beach is not very wheelchair friendly but everyone else should be ok. |

| The pine woods immediately behind the beach but they don't provide much shade. A couple of cafes and tavernas down on the beach do provide a shadey spot for a cool drink. Otherwise, the biggest resort on Kefalonia, Lassi, backs onto the beach, where tavernas and cafes can be found in abundance. |

| There are cafes and tavernas right at the back of the beach which enable you to get out of the sun and relax with a drink or snack.
There are the usual range of rental equipment is on offer.
