| Makris Yialos is a pretty beach, which suffers a little from over crowding. Even a few sunbeds can unfortunately make this narrow beach look untidy and overcrowded. |
| |
| The beach is kept clean of litter and seagrass in the summer. |
| |
| Makris Yialos asy to get to, especially if you are staying in nearby Lassi. It is also possible to get a bus to Lassi from the main town of Kefalonia, Argostoli, and some of the villages to the east. There are some fairly steep steps to get down to the beach from the road, so it is not really wheelchair friendly.
 |
| |
| The steep slope behind Makris Yialos does shade parts of the beach in the morning. There are also a couple of trees which will provide some shade later on. The cafe down on the beach also provides an opportunity to get out of the sun and cool down with some refreshment. |
| |
| Right down on the beach is a cafe where you can get drinks and snacks. All the usual sunbeds and hire equipmnt is available, although the width of the beach is not really conducive to too many sunbeds, it being barely wide enough for one at some points.
A stone's throw away from Makris Yialos is the major resort of Kefalonia, Lassi, where you can get anything you might need.
