| Avithos beach consists of a slightly finer sand than its near neighbours in Lassi. It is a similar golden yellow in colour. |

| Avithos beach is quite a bit quieter than the twin beaches of Lassi and provides a good alternative in summer if you are trying to get away from the crowds. There are also a couple of smaller beaches just along the coast of Kefalonia (Cephalonia).

| Avithos is not an unattractive beach, with its golden sand and couple of little islets offshore. The straight shore of Kefalonia at this point does not afford the beach a pretty bay though. |

| Avithos is a clean and well maintained beach, free of litter and sea grass in the summer months.

| Avithos is not easy to get to without some form of transport, wherever you are staying on Kefalonia. If you drive to Avithos, be warned, the little parking there is immediately behind Avithos beach fills up quickly in the summer.
If you are staying in nearby Lassi, why not hire bikes to explore the local are? This will give you access to several beaches along the coast here. The flat, olive-shaded countryside makes for good cycling territory. Why not treat yourself to a car hire whilst you're on Kefalonia so you get the most out of your visit. | There is not much natural shade on the beach since it is south facing with no real trees behind it. The best way to cool off here is to go into the cafe or taverna and order a refreshing drink. |

| There are a few sunbeds down at Avithos for those inclined to use them. There are also the usual range of hire equipment. The beach provides showers so you can get free of salt and sand before leaving and there is a cafe and taverna in close proximity.
