| Neochori is an all but forgotten village high up in the mountains of the Erissos peninsula of Kefalonia (Cephalonia). This village is truely a million miles away from the resorts and seems to have been abandoned by the under 60's completely. | The area around Neochori is quite dramatic characterised tiny roads winding around the steep hillsides surrounded by rocky and pine clad slopes. From the top of the peninsula, there is an amazing panoramic view that takes in the entirity of Ithaca.

| There seems little to do in Neochori. Perhaps Friends of the Ionian caught the village on a bad day, but the villagers seemed a littled disturbed by our presence. Not a very happy looking bunch, it has to be said. There is a beach signposted through Neochori, but not very clearly. Come up here to get a feel for the peninsula and for the views across the water, but I bet you don't get out of your car! Why not treat yourself to a car hire whilst you're on Kefalonia so you get the most out of your visit. Click here for Kefalonia Car Hire |
